Day Center

The Day Center is the families’ “home base” for taking care of personal needs and working with our Shelter Case Manager. Together, they create a case plan to find stable housing and sometimes employment. The case plan increases their likelihood of successful housing retention because it includes:

  • Special attention to children’s health and education through our partnerships with the University of Cincinnati Colleges of Medicine and Nursing and Cincinnati Public Schools’ Project Connect;
  • Capacity-building classes in budgeting, parenting, and life skills; and
  • Connections to a variety of social service agencies providing assistance.

Homeless Children Thrive and Grow

In collaboration with the UC College of Medicine, this program addresses the needs of children under 13 years old (over 200 children a year). The children are assessed for developmental delays, on-going medical issues, lead exposure, anemia and immunization delay; and then therapy is initiated or a referral for services is provided.

Transportation

The Interfaith Hospitality Network bus transports the families to congregations every evening and returns them to the Day Center in the morning after breakfast. During the day we provide Van Service to take guests to and from appointments critical to their search for housing and other needs such as health care and job related services.

Donate Stock

Thank you for indicating that you are interested in gifting stock to Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Cincinnati.  The method for making a gift of stock depends on how you hold the stock to be donated. Here are the instructions on making the transfer: If you hold a physical stock certificate:

Write a “Letter of Authorization”, which is a basic letter that states that you authorize a gift of stock to Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Cincinnati, Inc.  The letter should indicate the number of shares you would like to gift and should also indicate Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Cincinnati, Inc.'s account number at our brokerage firm, UBS: #GB07316.  The letter needs to be signed by all parties listed on the stock certificate; for example, if the stock certificate is in the name of you and your spouse, both of you needs to sign the letter of authorization.

Sign the back of the stock certificate.  All parties listed must sign the back in order for the stock to be gifted.  (If you would prefer not to sign the actual certificate, please call me at (513) 792-5240 and I can send you a Stock Powers Form, which will have the same effect.)

Mail or drop off all materials to:

UBS
Attn: Andy Garman
8044 Montgomery Road, Suite 250
Cincinnati, OH 45236-2949
UBS telephone: (513) 792-5240
UBS will then cash the stock, mail Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Cincinnati a check for the amount, and we will process a thank you letter/receipt for your files.
If your stock is held by a brokerage firm:

Contact your brokerage firm and have them make an electronic transfer of stock from your account to our account at UBS. Your broker will need to know UBS's DTC number to make the transfer, as well as Interfaith Hospitality Network’s account number at UBS:

  • UBS's DTC number: #0221

  • Interfaith Hospitality Network’s account number at UBS: #GB07316

The stock will be transferred electronically. UBS will then cash the stock, mail Interfaith Hospitality Network GC a check for the amount, and we will process a thank you letter/receipt for your files. Questions? Contact MerryBeth McKee, Director of Operations at (513) 471-1100 ext. 14 or at merrybeth@ihncincinnati.org.
